Through an EPA Marshall Scholarship, up to three talented individuals with strong backgrounds in environmentally relevant sciences are selected each year to receive up to five years of graduate education assistance. The first two years are supported by the UK through a Marshall Scholarship to a university in Great Britain. Successful candidates may receive up to three additional years of support towards a doctoral degree, either in England or in the US.
Qualifications
To be eligible for the EPA Marshall Scholarship, applicants must first be selected as Marshall Scholars, applying in the usual way, and must be pursuing a graduate degree in one of the following areas: Physical, life or systematic sciences, Engineering and technology, Economics, Social and behavioral sciences, Urban and regional planning, Communication science.

The program is intended to ensure a diverse and highly talented science and technology human resource base to achieve the DHS mission and objectives. An off-campus research internship at a DHS-designated facility will be required.
Qualifications
Applicants must be U.S. citizens, beginning or first-year graduate students, and attend an accredited institution in the U.S. or its territories. Students must also be pursuing a degree in the physical, biological, social and behavioral sciences including science policy, engineering, mathematics, or computer science. Applicants must have career and employment goals aligned with the mission and objectives of the U.S. Department of Homeland Security. Students must indicate a willingness to accept, after graduation, competitive employment offers from DHS, state and local security offices, DHS-affiliated Federal laboratories, or DHS-related university faculty or research staff positions.

A $2,300/month stipend for 12 months and money for tuition (amount pending final approval). During the internship, students are paid one round-trip travel allowance.
